The D3 in this supplement is identical to vitamin D derived in the body and synthesized by sunlight on the skin. New research is focusing on bone and cardiovascular health benefits from the synergistic relationship between vitamin K2 and vitamin D3. Vitamin K is a group of structurally similar, naturally occurring fat-soluble vitamins essential to proper calcium utilization. Vitamin K activates the protein osteocalcin to help bind recently absorbed calcium to the bone's mineral matrix. Vitamin K has been found to help maintain bone mineral density by decreasing the activity of cells that break down the bone matrix. While vitamin D and vitamin K share similar qualities, they also act synergistically to support healthy blood circulation, boost immune function, and promote bone health and proper storage of calcium.
While most people consume adequate dietary vitamin K to maintain sufficient blood clotting, many do not consume enough to meet cardiovascular and bone health needs. Because of this, many people find supplementation to be very beneficial. Poor intestinal absorption and drug induced nutrient depletions can also lead to insufficient K2 levels. This leaves calcium available to be exported out of bone and into other tissues. Swallow one capsule daily with water, preferably at mealtime, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner.
Consult your healthcare practitioner prior to use. Individuals taking other medication should discuss potential interactions with their healthcare practitioner. Consider total vitamin K intake (food and supplements) if you are taking blood-thinning medication. Present studies show that 45 mcg of MK-7 from Vitamk7 daily is not likely to interfere with blood-thinning medicines. Do not use if tamper seal is damaged.
